Winery
Tenuta San Guido, home of the emblematic Sassiccia, is located in Bolgheri (Tuscany) and enjoys unique prestige in the wine world. Its importance is such that Sassiccia has its own denomination, Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC, recognized in 1994 as one of the few Italian wines with an exclusive DOC.
The estate has carefully selected vineyards planted on stony soils reminiscent of Bordeaux gravel, with optimal orientation to benefit from sun and sea influences. The combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc produces wines of great structure, aromatic complexity, and excellent ageing potential.
Recommended for
Ideal to accompany high-quality red meats, suckling pig, refined roasts, truffle dishes, free-range poultry with intense sauces, or aged cheeses. Sassiccia 2022 has extraordinary ageing potential: it is recommended to wait 8–12 years (or more) to fully appreciate its elegance and complexity at its peak.
